In 1992, Fell & Marcus Co., LPA
was formed to provide legal services to injured workers
in Ohio. However, the history of the firm dates back many years prior to its formation and the partners individually have a long history of providing legal services to the community. The firm will be closing as of the end of March 2024.
Steven E. Marcus is a 1978 graduate of The University of Toledo College of Law and began the private practice of law in Toledo after his graduation from law school. He subsequently worked as an Ohio Industrial Commission District Hearing Officer and Employee Relations Specialist for the City of Toledo before joining Fell & Fell Co., LPA as an associate in 1984. In 1990, he became a partner and the firm name was formally changed to Fell & Marcus Co., LPA. After 45 years of practice, Steven E. Marcus is retiring as of March 2024.
George N. Fell, II, is a third-generation Toledo lawyer whose grandfather, George N. Fell, began the general practice of law in Toledo in 1898. His father, George H. Fell, who graduated from Harvard Law School in 1933, joined the practice in the mid 1930s and subsequently began concentrating his practice in the area of workers' compensation in approximately 1963. George N. Fell, II, graduated from The Ohio State College of Law in 1966 and, after working in Columbus as an Attorney-Examiner for the Ohio Industrial Commission and as an Ohio Assistant Attorney General, joined his father's Toledo law practice in 1969.
George H. Fell retired from the practice of law in approximately 1982. After 50 years of practice, George N. Fell, ll retired on December 31, 2016.
The joining of these lawyers has allowed the firm to offer its clients over 80 years of combined legal experience in the area of workers' compensation law. The firm's goal is to provide high-quality legal services to those individuals injured in work-related accidents. The cornerstone of the practice involves representing injured workers in workers' compensation claims.

My name is Julie and I am an administrative assistant and long-time employee of Fell & Marcus. I am coming up on 34 years with the company and incredibly the youngest employee here. After enjoying a good cup of coffee in the morning, I handle a variety of tasks that help keep the office running smoothly and I enjoy helping both clients and colleagues alike. It's a pleasure working with wonderful co-workers and a caring employer. In my free time I like to spend time gardening and am also a big animal lover and enjoy the company of my many animals.
Tena
My name is Tena and I am a legal secretary/paralegal with Fell & Marcus. I am the low man on the totem pole, celebrating 30 years of employment with the Fell & Marcus family in September, 2020. Along my 30-year journey, I started out at a receptionist and handled typing for Mr. Fell. Through the years, I have progressed to claims management, handling the hearing docket, and handling the Court docket. On a personal note, I have a love of baseball, football, and basketball from watching my two kiddos during their years in high school. I am an animal lover and currently have a cat as a pet. I am looking forward to many more years working with the Fell & Marcus family.
Shirley
My name is Shirley and I have been with the firm for 41 years and have decided that I will probably die here some day sitting in my chair. Friends ask why I still work and the staff here are as close as family. Plus, there is always something good to nibble on in our kitchen. My responsibilities here over the years have been Mr. Fell’s secretary, bookkeeper, and just a general handyman. I feel fortunate to have a job that I love. I get a good feeling from helping our client’s get what they deserve. Anyone who has been in my office knows, I’m still a huge Elvis fan and attend festivals and concerts with Elvis impersonators as well as going to Memphis every August for Elvis week.
